Greg Keeley, President, Communications Director, Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY)

Greg Keeley is Communications Director to Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyoming). Prior to joining Barrasso he held similar roles in the House and with the Joint Economic Committee. Greg is a former broadcast journalist with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. He served as an officer in the Royal Australian Navy, was a liaison officer to the Pentagon - deploying to Iraq in 2003. Greg’s previous roles include Communications Director to the President of the Australian Senate and Strategic Communications Adviser to the Secretary for Defense Materiel (DOD). He holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Curtin) a Masters in International Relations (Deakin) and is a graduate of the Royal Australian Naval College.

Lisa Wink currently serves as the Director of Communications for the Senate Chaplain’s office. After graduating from the University of Central Oklahoma, she spent seven years working in Austria. Prior to working for Chaplain Black, Lisa was the Director of Outreach for a D.C. based non-profit that worked directly with Hill Members and staff. She now serves as Vice President and is in charge of membership for the Senate Press Secretaries Association.

Margaret McPhillips has worked in the Office of Senator Thad Cochran (R-Mississippi) since graduating from the University of Virginia in 2002. She has worked on Senator Cochran’s press staff since March of 2005 and has served as his Press Secretary since January of 2006. Margaret covers press for Senator Cochran both in his personal office and on the Appropriations Committee.

Ashley Glacel currently serves as Press Secretary for the Special Committee on Aging, chaired by Senator Herb Kohl (D-WI). Previously she served as Communications Director for Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-Milwaukee). Before coming to the Hill, she worked for the Feminist Majority, the Village Voice, and The American Prospect. Glacel completed her undergraduate degree from the College of William & Mary and her masters degree at the New School in New York.

Stephanie Allen joined Senator Mary L. Landrieu’s (D-Louisiana) staff as her press secretary in July 2006. Before that she worked for Congressional Quarterly, where she worked in several roles, including news researcher, CQ reporter and account manager. As a Senate Press Secretaries Association social co-chair, Stephanie brings members together to socialize after work. In 2001, she earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Emory University and in 2003, a master’s in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.

Steve Wymer is Colorado Senator Wayne Allard’s Communications Director. Previously, Steve was a member of Oregon Senator Gordon H. Smith’s staff and has managed a variety of political campaigns over the years. A graduate of Washington State University, Steve serves the Senate Press Secretaries Association as a ‘utility player,’ helping to increase membership and participation. Steve is an avid traveler, golfer and baseball fan.

Joanna Kuebler, Communications Director for Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), has worked for the Ohio Democrat since spring of 2004. Prior to working on Capitol Hill, she worked for the Pennsylvania General Assembly as press secretary for the House Democratic Policy Committee. Joanna helps organize and plan the Senate Press Secretaries Association breakfast speaker series. A native of Los Angeles, California, she is a graduate of Millersville University with a degree in English and Political Science.

Sarah Stevenson has served as the Deputy Press Secretary for Senator Bob Bennett (R-Utah) since fall 2006. Prior to coming to the Bennett office, she worked for a non-profit microfinance organization based in Mombasa, Kenya. Sarah helps organize and plan the Senate Press Secretaries Association breakfast speaker series. She is a graduate of Brigham Young University in communications and political science.

Jesse Broder Van Dyke, Press Secretary for Senator Daniel K. Akaka (D-Hawaii) since 2006, is a former television news producer and filmmaker. Before leaving the beauty and comfort of the islands for the harsh reality of D.C. politics, he produced a daily national/international evening news program at KHON-TV, Hawaii's top rated news station, focusing on national politics and events from around the Pacific Rim. Today he's thrilled work to benefit his home state in the Senate. He graduated from Boston University in 2001 with a degree in Film and a minor in History and graduated from Punahou High School in 1997. As Webmaster, he designed this sweet website you are looking at, and assists with events and member outreach.
